« Elizabeth Chedanne cultivates her garden of life with a freedom devoid of extravagance. Her colors sing loudly yet ring true in harmonious tones. The inventive range of her sensibility also allows her to tease our curiosity. She excels at suggesting strange journeys that are like enigmas to us. We cannot follow her everywhere she goes, for she doesn’t leave her key to dreams under the doormat, and that’s just fine. »

A few words about my inspiration…
For me, painting is a way to connect the Unknown to the Known, Dreams to what is often imposed upon us daily; to give ample space to this subterranean world that flows within us like a river whose origin and course we do not know, but whose energy carries us to distant lands, dark or luminous.
Everything begins with a story, a situation, a quirk, a magical landscape, a disappointment—all those sensations that inhabit us and live within us like jewels or shipwrecks. Painting is also a way for me to reconcile myself with a world that is often so ugly.
